Program Overview
Puppies 10 weeks – 6 months
Our Puppy Head Start Program takes the stress out of puppyhood while building the foundation for the dog you want to enjoy for years to come. We start with age-appropriate training to tackle puppy frustrations and establish good habits early, then welcome your dog back once they’re mature enough to complete our full Board & Train program. It’s the best of both worlds—relief now and reliable training for life.
WHO NEEDS THE PUPPY HEAD START PROGRAM?
Puppyhood is adorable—but it can also be exhausting. Sleepless nights, potty accidents, barking, biting, and nonstop puppy chaos can quickly become overwhelming. Our Puppy Head Start gives you some much-needed relief while building good habits, clear expectations, and a strong foundation for the well-mannered dog your puppy will become.
This program addresses:
Potty accidents
Puppy biting
Jumping
Not coming when called
Refusing to walk on the leash
This program includes:
Potty training
Crate training
Proper socialization
Confidence building
Introducing leash skills
Teaching name recognition
Tolerating touching, handling, brushing, and nail clipping
Addressing problem behaviors like nipping, jumping, whining, and barking
Introduction to basic commands, including sit, down, come, leave it, and place
Graduates also have access to board with us in the future (at additional cost)
WHAT TO EXPECT
Your puppy’s training begins during one of the most important stages of development. Between 10–16 weeks, they’ll spend four structured days with Journey K9 building confidence, learning good habits, and getting thoughtful exposure to the world around them. Each day, you’ll receive an update along with simple guidance to keep that progress going at home.
Once your pup reaches six months, they’ll return for our 2-Week Go Anywhere Dog Program, where we build on that early foundation with reliable obedience, off-leash freedom, and the ability to listen around real-world distractions. Start them right from the beginning, then finish the job with training designed to give you a dog you can confidently take anywhere.
