Private Lessons

Program Overview

Dogs 6 months and older

Private lessons are designed exclusively for happy, easygoing dogs without fear, anxiety, reactivity, or aggression who simply need a little professional guidance.

Unlike our Board & Train programs, you’ll be doing the training. We’ll provide the tools, instruction, and game plan, but your dog’s success will depend on your consistency and follow-through at home. This program is best for owners who are comfortable setting clear expectations, following directions, and putting in the time between lessons.

If you’re ready to do the work, we’ll show you exactly how to get there.

WHO NEEDS PRIVATE LESSONS?

Private lessons are intentionally reserved for a small percentage of dogs and owners. They’re best suited for happy, easygoing dogs who need minimal professional support and owners who are confident taking on the majority of the training themselves.

Because the majority of the work happens at home, this program requires strong follow-through and a commitment to practicing exactly as instructed. If your dog is difficult to manage, struggles with behavior, or you’d prefer us to do the heavy lifting, one of our Board & Train programs will be a better fit.

This program addresses:

  • Basic obedience & manners

  • Leash pulling

  • Jumping

  • Door & crate manners

  • Place & settling

  • Off-leash recall

  • Mild impulse control

  • General household nuisance behaviors

This program includes:

  • Four one-on-one lessons to teach new skills to owner and dog

  • Off-leash control

  • Excellent leash manners even with distractions – (no more pulling!)

  • Calm at home and in public

  • Sit and down

  • Place (go to a dog bed & stay)

  • Come when called (even with distractions)

  • Improved manners (no more jumping!)

  • E-collar used for training

  • Access to our monthly Group Classes at $25/class

  • Graduates also have access to board with us in the future (at additional cost)

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your Private Lesson program includes four one-on-one lessons, typically completed over six weeks. During each lesson, I’ll work hands-on with your dog while coaching you through the techniques, communication, and expectations you’ll continue at home.

Between lessons, you’ll put those skills into practice, giving your dog the repetition and consistency needed to make progress. Each session builds on the last, allowing us to troubleshoot, refine your handling, and continue advancing your dog’s training.

Unlike Board & Train, the success of this program ultimately depends on your commitment and follow-through at home. I’ll give you the tools, guidance, and support—you’ll be responsible for putting them into action.
